Welcome to Chapel Farm Gospel Hall, Chalton

A new place of worship for an established community

Establishing a community hub

More public space for Chalton residents

Creating a more attractive approach to the village

Following a search for suitable sites that began in 2007, the local congregation of the Plymouth Brethren Christian Church purchased Chapel Farm in 2024. We would like to put forward plans for a new purpose-built Gospel Hall on this site.

The Gospel Hall would replace the one currently used on the outskirts of Houghton Regis, which is no longer large enough to accommodate the Church’s community.

The site at Chapel Farm not only has the space to meet our needs, but also offers a unique opportunity to reserve land for the use of the local community.  This includes setting aside land for potential new allotments, rewilded landscapes which could potentially act as a quiet area for people to enjoy, and a gift of land to Chalton Lower School.

Following extensive pre-application discussions with Central Bedfordshire Council, we now wish to seek your feedback. A public consultation has been launched to give local residents and businesses the opportunity to view the emerging proposals and submit their comments.

The public consultation will be held on:

9am – 12pm, Saturday 2 August 2025, Chapel Farm, Luton Road, Chalton, LU4 9UJ.

Feedback from the local community is very important to us, and all comments received during the consultation will be carefully reviewed by the project team.

Details on how to submit comments can be found on the Your Feedback page.
